Strategic Evaluations Advisor
Haywards Heath, including regular international travel
£35,000 per annum
This exciting role has primary responsibility for providing organisation-wide leadership on how Sightsavers undertakes and utilises evaluation results. The post holder will contribute to the overall improvement in the quality and impact of Sightsavers' programmes; this will include taking an active role in supporting the institutionalisation of Sightsavers’ Monitoring and Evaluation system.
The post holder is expected to manage the Sightsavers evaluation function, ensuring that designed evaluations are effective, relevant to the needs of Sightsavers, its supporters and beneficiaries as well as being learning orientated – i.e. designed to help Sightsavers improve its policies and practice. S/he will also contribute to innovations that improve Sightsavers' ability to identify, communicate and apply learning from evaluations to meet changing contexts and priorities around the world, to make a real difference to the lives of poor people.
Preferably with a masters degree in public health, international development, social policy or related disciplines you will have substantial experience gained within the international development sector designing, undertaking and or commissioning evaluation and ensuring effective use of the evaluation findings in the organisation. Experience of programme work alongside knowledge of current issues and best practice in international development, particularly around monitoring and evaluation and accountability is also essential. You must be willing to undertake up to 8 weeks overseas travel per year.
