Essential Responsibilities (Specific day-to-day responsibilities and milestones needed to achieve the objectives):
- Work in a team to compile a newsletter aimed at financial markets clients, selecting Reuters news articles and related data and editing them to conform to the newsletter format.
- Exercise strong news judgment to ensure Reuters newsletters meet client needs and showcase Reuters breaking news, analysis and other high value content.
- Ensure deadlines are met and be able to report on the status and schedule of the newsletter at all times.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure clients receive accurate data and stories, in line with Reuters principles and standards.
- Monitor news flow, anticipate and plan work for the day.
- Proof-read and review newsletters multiple times to ensure accurate content, spelling and grammar.
- Communicate effectively via phone and email with editors and contributors on a daily basis and escalate any problems promptly.
- Maintain and constantly update details of clients interested in the newsletters.
Additional Information (e.g. shift resource, % work that is development vs. maintenance, etc.):
Willingness to work night shifts. Shifts will be staggered and on rotation basis. Typical shifts are 1200-2100 and 1900-0400.
Qualifications
Education:
Degree in Journalism / Mass Communication, or Economics or Commerce or Finance or Management
Required Skills :
- Strong interest and understanding of financial markets – including U.S. Treasury, Equities and/or Commodities.
- Sound news judgment covering financial markets and a strong writing ability.
- Experience in meeting real-time deadlines while maintaining accuracy and fostering cross-border corporate relationships.
