Scope of the Role:
Optimise the utilisation of technical resources to the best advantage of the company to maximise revenues and profitability.
Undertake mooring analyses in compliance with code requirements of bodies such as DNV, ABS & API.
Assist with delivery of specific project activities as directed by the Managing Director UK and Operations Manager.
Provide expertise and support to the Operations and Sales departments as required.
Maintain awareness of, and control exposure to, operational and commercial risks.
Accountable for:
Undertake mooring analyses in order to comply with various bodies such as DNV, API, UK HSE & NMD.
Aid in the development of industry best practice standards and procedures for the engineering department.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the application, and limitations of, various types of mooring equipment.
Undertake specific project activities, as directed, and in close liaison with the Operations Department.
Supervise, in conjunction with the Operations Department, specific procurement and commissioning projects as directed.
Identify and evaluate new engineering opportunities and liaise with Operations and Sales Managers to aid in commercial evaluation.
Support the Operations Manager in developing opportunities domestically and internationally with clients.
Provide engineering assistance and advice in the preparation of bids and tenders.
Liaise with clients to provide optimal moorings solutions.
Provide in-house mooring analysis to clients.
Assist in mooring system deployment / installation as required.
Provide engineering support on projects worldwide.
Build upon the strong working relations with existing clients.
Prepare AutoCAD drawings for mooring projects.
Maintain, in conjunction with the Operations Supervisor / Marine Supervisor plant specification sheets.
Ensure a safe place of work is maintained and safe working practices are adhered to in all areas.
Ensure your own actions reduce risks by identifying and controlling Health, Safety and Environmental hazards.
Desired Skills & Experience
Must have:
Proven track record and experience in a Project Engineer role or similar.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Previous experience undertaking analysis work.
Knowledge of drilling industry and equipment used in offshore mooring operations
Relevant Business, Engineering and Technical qualifications.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
