This is your opportunity to enjoy an extremely high-profile role as you will be organising our conferences and major events, held in London, member countries and in other capitals. These must all reflect the importance of our work as an international inter-governmental organisation.
Yours will be a broad and influential remit including developing policy, strategies, guidelines and procedures; preparing, managing and accounting for budgets; managing and developing your team and on-site staff; identifying, assessing and reporting on locations; managing the complex logistics; negotiating with travel agents, hotels and others; ensuring impeccable administration; and advising colleagues on protocol and other critical issues.
A graduate and / or professionally qualified, you must have several years’ direct experience of conference management. Also, you will need a good knowledge of political matters, particularly pertaining to the Commonwealth; the credibility, confidence and communication skills to deal effectively at the highest levels of government and other international organisations; the ability to network, building beneficial relationships while maintaining a diplomatic and tactful approach  even when negotiating the best option; and, on occasion, efficient problem-solving skills.
