Programme Coordinator – I-OPT, based in Amman (International position)

In the Middle East, FCA carries out development cooperation, advocacy and humanitarian aid activities through local implementing partners. FCA office in Jordan oversees the work in following countries: Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).
FCA’s work in the Middle East focuses on: 1) Right to Peace, 2) Right to Livelihood and 3) Right to Education
Programme Coordinator will coordinate programmatic work and contribute in international fundraising efforts in the Middle East. The coordinator will report to the Regional Representative in Jordan Office.

Duties and responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor programmatic work
• Support and monitor local partners with project implementation
• Establish and maintain excellent working relations with local and international partners
• Coordinate and contribute to new project initiatives, project proposals and funding opportunities
• Follow up the political and humanitarian situation in the programme country and advice MERO/ HQ accordingly
• Develop contingency plans for programme work
• Participate in humanitarian assistance when needed
• Participate in the work of ACT Palestine Forum
• Undertake other duties as designated

Competence and Personal Requirements

• Experience in development cooperation and/or humanitarian aid field operations with NGOs in developing countries
• Good knowledge or proven experience in project management
• Experience in cooperating with local organizations and authorities as well as international actors
• Willingness to travel in the unstable region and between region and HQ
• Master’s Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent demonstrated work experience
• Fluent in English; spoken and written Arabic and/or Hebrew skills would be an asset
The contract for the assignment will be made for 1.6.2013 - 30.9.2015. The salary is based on FCA collective agreement and monthly salary in the beginning of contract will be 2874 - 3190 €.
