As part of the growing portfolio of work that we undertake around the world, we are seeking to identify a suitably qualified Security Officer who would be interested in a potential four year consultancy assignment to contribute to a recovery programme for Syria. The role will be based in Turkey but may require travel to Syria when the security situation allows.
In particular we are looking for individuals with the following experience:

In particular we are looking for individuals with the following experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in setting up and successfully leading the security environment, equipment, procedures and personnel at a medium or large enterprise in a conflict, post-conflict or fragile state
- Good knowledge of UN or other international organizations' security rules and procedures
- Good knowledge of security issues in Eastern Turkey and Syria
- Fluency in spoken and written Arabic
- Good command of English
- Ability and readiness to work and live in an off-capital environment on the Turkish-Syrian border
- Ability and readiness to travel frequently, including field trips to Syria if and when the security situation allows to
Additional advantages:
- Experience in working in Syria and/or neighbouring countries
- Previous experience working with an international development or assistance organisation or international NGO
- Good command of Turkish
