Social and Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist
The Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) is seeking candidates to participate in the implementation of a USAID-funded Mekong Partnership for the Environment project in the Lower Mekong Region. The project will advance informed multi-stakeholder dialogues in Lower Mekong Initiative partner counties on the anticipated social and environmental costs and benefits of regional development projects.
Ideal candidates will have senior-level management experience in Southeast Asia, particularly related to Social and Environmental Impact Assessments. ISC seeks candidates with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and directing programs that demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 8 years professional experience conducting social and/or environmental impact assessments preferably in Southeast Asia. Familiarity with the social and political context of the lower Mekong
• local language ability preferred;
• Strong experience with infrastructure development such as transportation systems and hydropower;
• Experience with Social and Environmental Safeguard (SES) systems and Multilateral Development Banks
• Senior level management experience preferred;
• Master’s degree in international development, social sciences, or other related field.
