As part of the growing portfolio of work that we undertake around the world, we are seeking to identify a suitably qualified Communications and Media Specialist who would be interested in a potential four year consultancy assignment to contribute to a recovery programme for Syria. The role will be based in Turkey but may require travel to Syria when the security situation allows.
In particular we are looking for individuals with the following experience:

In particular we are looking for individuals with the following experience:
- At least 5 years of experience and a proven track record in international journalism or public relations work, preferably in a development cooperation context
- Good working knowledge and of web-based media and social networks
- Ability and readiness to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Good knowledge of Syrian affairs
- Proven access to international media
- Strong written and verbal communications and facilitation skills, even under time pressure
- Ability and readiness to work and live in an off-capital environment on the Turkish-Syrian border
- Ability and readiness to travel frequently, including field trips to Syria if and when the security situation allows to
- Fluency in spoken and written English
Additional advantages:
- Experience in working in Syria and/or neighbouring countries
- Working knowledge of Arabic
