Provincial Technical Officer – West Papua
AusAID funded HIV Cooperation Program for Indonesia
Based in Manokwari, West Papua
GRM International is the managing contractor for the HIV Cooperation Program for Indonesia (HCPI), the largest component of the Australia Indonesia Partnership for HIV. With support and supervision from the Adviser Prevention and Health Promotion, the Provincial Technical Officer will be responsible for:
- Assisting the West Papua Provincial AIDS Commission and District AIDS Commissions of West Papua , including their sectoral and civil society members to develop and implement programs based on the Tanah Papua Communication Strategy, with emphasis on advocacy, community mobilization and behaviour change communication in the general population and high risk groups.
- Liaise with HCPI counterparts in West Papua on all relevant HCPI activities as directed including institutional strengthening and planning and budgeting.
- Assist in the coordination and monitoring of progress of project activities and project partner performance in the West Papua province.
- Provide input to project reports as required.
- Carry out other duties as directed by the Adviser Prevention and Health Promotion, the Team Leader or their delegate.
Interested candidates for the position should have the following qualifications and experience:
- Experience in community programs delivered by civil society in Eastern Indonesia
- A general understanding of all aspects of HIV and AIDS, STI programming with extensive experience and high level of skill in community mobilization;
- A high level of understanding and experience of behaviour change communication especially in low-resource and low literacy settings;
- A capacity to work with both government and non-government sectors;
- Experience in networking, liaison, training, institutional strengthening and monitoring;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Good computer skills;
- Ability to work in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
