About the role

At British Airways, you’ll get more than you might expect in this crucial support role. More responsibilities, and more rewards. Joining our strong and established Dublin team, you’ll provide valuable support to Sales professionals – not just in Ireland, but around the UK. From creating and updating databases through to producing statistics and reports and processing payments and invoices, you’ll ensure everything runs smoothly. 

But your duties go far beyond administrative support. You’ll be instrumental to maintaining telephone relationships with our clients, partners and customers, discussing a range of matters with them on a regular basis. For example, you might find yourself liaising with a travel agent about sales issues, or mingling with industry personnel at trade events.

About the day to day

  • Working closely with Account Managers, you’ll develop a clear understanding of their portfolios – and you’ll work with them on everything from performance analysis and identifying market trends, through to deals, commercial agreements, marketing and incentive schemes.
  • Provide a comprehensive, efficient and reliable office support service to the Sales team to enable them to maximise their selling time 
  • Amend and update the British Airways sales database and produce monthly statistics and reports for the sales team plus external customers. Also responsible for creation of new corporate databases
  • Regular email communication with our Trade Partners
  • Telephone Account Management 
  • Provide clerical support for the Sales team, maintains filing systems, and receipt and distribution of all Sales Team correspondence 
  • Process invoices, lodgements, cheque payments, weekly TSR and other global finance duties for Sales Team 
  • Monitor and analyse sales and deal performance of customers, identifying and addressing shortfalls, formulating solutions with Account Managers 
  • Responsible for handling customers commercial issues in the absence of the Account Manager
  • Actively seeks out and identifies feedback on market trends and competitor activity, including rates, and feeds through to Office Manager for action.
  • Responsible for monitoring publish fares on our top 20 routes fortnightly 
  • Responsible for Irish website 
  • Co-ordinate and support all deal processes with Account Manager and distribution of commercial agreements 
  • Organise, produces and assists in the delivery of customer training programmes, events, forums, educationals, airport visits within budget guidelines to maximise support for BA 
  • Fully support Account Manager to create and implement marketing and incentive schemes within budget to drive incremental business, ensuring success through monitoring and evaluation 
  • Attend and represent BA at industry functions and trade shows - prepared to work some evenings, weekends and travel overseas

About you

  • To thrive here at British Airways, you’ll need to be a driven and collaborative individual with strong commercial and business acumen. Highly organised, with plenty of initiative, you demonstrate a flair for relationship building, influencing and negotiation
  • Your skills span analysis, sales, marketing, cost management and data manipulation. Naturally, you’re computer literate, with skills spanning the Microsoft Office suite and Amadeus
  • You have a good understanding of reservation, fare and ticketing processes and working knowledge of the broader travel industry. And your genuine interest in and enthusiasm for British Airways really sets you apart. 
  • Strong team working skills based on experience of working cross functionally and within a team 
  • Very good time management skills with a capability to prioritise and achieve deadlines whilst working under pressure 
  • Proactive, able to work unsupervised using own initiative 
  • Effective, proven planning and organisational skills 
  • Very capable in the use of spreadsheets and ability to manipulate data
