We are currently integrating our BG Norge and UK Upstream assets to better support a future of growth and investment in the area. This will deliver a more sustainable future and robust business proposition for Europe E&P, as well as enhanced development opportunities for individuals across the combined teams. With a joint portfolio producing over 100 kboe/ day, our goal is to continue building a truly excellent Exploration and Production business in Europe E&P.
Position Summary
The role is Project Manager within Operated By Others (OBO) Asset Team, reporting to the Lead Project Manager for OBO. The OBO team is responsible for managing non operated projects on an integrated basis across various functional disciplines, with the current key projects being:
1.     Jasmine development operated by ConocoPhillips
2.     West Franklin Phase 2 development operated by Total
3.     Buzzard Major Projects operated by Nexen
The Buzzard field is starting to embark on the next phase of development post base execution, as such there is a significant opportunity to influence the development of one of Europe E&P key assets. In addition there are key strategic projects in the Execute phase including additional living quarters, sand management and produced water treatment upgrades.
This will require work within OBO and across integrated teams, including the co-ordination of support from BG Advance, in order to maximise value to BG. It will require strong stakeholder management, both internally and externally, with the operators and other key partners.
The provision of support to other Europe E&P business activities requiring project inputs will also be required.
The OBO field developments contribute significantly to Offshore Europe achieving its business targets.
Key Accountabilities
Safe delivery of Buzzard projects, on time and within budget.
Partner relations on Project issues. The job holder will represent BG at the Buzzard Development Sub-Committee (DevCom) and interaction with the Operator and other Joint Venture partners on project related issues.
Determine strengths and weaknesses of the Operator.  Assess where support and challenge are required.
Responsible for taking projects through BG's value assurance processes.
Provide timely and high quality contributions to internal project management presentations and reports as required.
Provide inputs to financial approval submissions e.g. Investment Committee Papers.
A member of the OBO Projects team, contributing to the efficient delivery of overall team targets and contributing to the overall delivery of the Europe E&P Business Plan.
Provide support to other business activities within the Europe E&P, OBO and Operated Assets when project contributions are required.
Liaise with Project Controls and ensure that schedule and cost performance of Projects is understood and is being stewarded to meet BG requirements.
Promote knowledge transfer within the Europe E&P organisation
Deputise for the Lead OBO Projects Manager as required.
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience Needed:  
Track record of managing complex upstream projects, both in an operator and non operator capacity.
Experience of the key skills and behaviours required in order to effectively influence and support the operator and other partners within the Europe E&P OBO portfolio.
Proven ability to work within multi-disciplined teams to deliver the desired project outcomes.
Experience with all phases of project management execution and familiar with the BG Way Project Management process.
Experienced VAF practitioner.
Experience in managing project work on operating facilities and demonstrated understanding of the complexities of these scopes and the interfaces between Projects, Operations, Well Construction and Maintenance.
 
Specialist Knowledge/Languages:
Skills
Educated to first degree level and preferably possess a post graduate management qualification. Chartered member of a professional engineering institution also preferred.
Project management qualification preferred and evidence of continuing professional development in project management.
Ability to work independently with little supervision, to propose priorities and agree them with management, to manage own time and to work to tight deadlines under pressure when necessary.
Collaborative and adaptive working style.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills, able to determine the approximate impact of each issue quickly to prioritise further work.
Skilled in engaging and facilitating others to think and plan new action.
Good influencing skills, with the ability to effectively influence at all levels, both internally and externally.
Ability to work with and gain the confidence and respect of senior management within BG and with key customers and Joint Venture partners.
Effective communicator (written and oral).
