Clinical Lead Nursing Informatics - EHR

Nursing Informatics plays a vital role in evolving the use of Information technology for quality of care improvement in healthcare organizations by supporting and championing information and technological innovations. These paradigm shifts necessitate the need for creation of new roles to lead these changes and integrate existing practices. Transitioning to Electronic Health Records requires creation of a new lead nursing informatics role that would take lead in transforming delivery of healthcare.
Responsibilities
The Clinical Lead – Nursing Informatics (CLNI), would be integral to the EHR Project Management Team. This position will report to the Project Manager (EHR) and Director Nursing, but work closely with the Project Team at all levels to deliver results. The CLNI will be familiar with the various bodies of knowledge, such as, clinical needs, technology, budget and regulatory compliance, and market trends. S/he should have the ability to integrate these different bodies of knowledge while recognizing organizational structure and to work with senior leadership to develop vision for the use of IT to improve quality of patient care in AKU. . This role facilitates the integration technology and professional knowledge to support patients, nurses and other providers to support decision making in all roles and aspects. 
 
The CLNI will play a key role in putting together strategies to drive EHR related change management throughout the nursing division and take lead in preparing multi-generational plans to achieve, not only the objectives of a successful EHR selection and implementation, but also set the ground for sustaining the initiative in the years to come. The role will include, but not be limited to requiring skills in strategic planning, business process re-engineering, change management, education and training, research and product marketing. 
Requirements

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • Current registration with the Pakistan Nursing Council;
  • Master Degree in Nursing  Leadership & Management is preferred;
  • Proven record of leading or assisting successful implementation of Clinical Information system(s);
  • 8-10 Years Experience in a Lead Nursing role;
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience of coordinating activities across the hospital;
  • Formal study in Information Management is preferred.
Knowledge and competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Analytical and Mutil-Generational Planning Skills;
  • Stellar ability to grasp new concepts and work with Information Systems;
  • Excellent leadership, influential and presentation skills;
  • Strong computer skills with demonstrated ability of using, MS Access, Excel, Visio, etc;
  • Be able to work independently and navigate way around the organization with minimal help;
  • Be able to work at all levels and across the organization.
