CSP Supervisor (Program Coordinator)


FLSA: Exempt, Grade: 22, Contract position
Responsibilities:
The purpose of this grant funded position is to ensure high quality standards in preschool programs participating in the Child Signature Program (CSP). The CSP Supervisor will provide professional guidance and supervise Early Education Experts and Family Support Specialists and Mental Health Specialist. The CSP Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that all participating classrooms meet the minimum Maintenance of Effort (MOE) Quality Program Requirements and Quality Enhancement (QE) Program Requirements.
Essential Functions:
Service Goal:
Consistently promotes and models courteous LAUP/community service in a prompt and efficient manner. Maintains positive relationships with all LAUP internal and external contacts through professional honest interaction. Responds to requests quickly and professionally recognizing that a request serves an organization and/or community need.

Supports LAUP mission of providing high-quality preschool education to the children of Los Angeles County. Dedicated to the preschool cause (DREAM BIG), and along with LAUP team, upholds the organization to the highest standards.
Daily Tasks
  • Establishes positive team work, communication protocols and high performance work norms among CSP staff
  • Manages and coordinates functions of the CSP team
  • Communicates progress, needs and accomplishments to the Director of Provider Operations on a regular basis
  • Provides counsel, advice, and support to CSP team members
  • Communicates with Quality Support Supervisors to ensure consistent practices and quality among Provider Operations staff
  • Promotes and models continuous quality improvement and professional growth

  • Experience in data collection techniques and analysis to measure performance and for continuous quality improvement

Support:
  • Accuracy and completeness of database and reporting
  • Ability to identify support issues and respond accordingly
Review/Monitoring:
  • Complete monitoring/support site visits in a timely manner
  • Issues clearly communicated to CSP staff for follow up
Physical Duties:
  • Work is primarily sedentary in nature, no special demands are required. May be expected to lift boxes up to 20 lbs.
Other Duties:
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Knowledge:
  • Ability to establish supportive relationships with providers, children and families from diverse background
  • Ability to utilize reflective supervision
  • Knowledge of and ability to assess, analyze, and interpret Head State Standards, state and local licensing requirements, and the organization's philosophy
  • Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team as a cooperative and supportive team member
  • Knowledge of community resources and capacity to develop community cooperation to ensure that families receive comprehensive services
  • Knowledge of business vocabulary and composition of business documents
  • Working knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to learn and apply routine office policies and procedures
Skills:
  • Demonstrated group facilitation skills

Requirements / Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with staff, providers and stake holders
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Must be detail-oriented, flexible, and decisive with excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to operate computer and other office equipment.
  • Must have valid driver's license and valid vehicle insurance
  • Must be fingerprinted for criminal background check
  • Clearance of background checks as required by local, state and federal regulations
  • Physical examination and diagnostic tests as required by local, state and federal regulations
  • Must be able to travel within the community (i.e., parents' homes, community agencies, etc.)
Preferred Experience: 6-8 years
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience working with families in a community-based organization or family support/resource program
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working as a teacher in an early childhood preschool program and/or at least three (3) years as a site supervisor or director or equivalent
Formal Education: Masters Degree in Social Work or related field Early Childhood Education or Child Development (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
Language proficiency required/preferred: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
