(SSK) Landscape Manager WWF-Cambodia


WWF, one of the world’s largest independent conservation organizations, has a global network active in more than 100 countries. As part of the WWF Greater Mekong Program (GMP), WWF-Cambodia manages a wide array of conservation projects and seeks an experienced candidate for the following challenging position:
 
(SSK) Landscape Manager
The Siphandone, Stung Treng, Kratie (SSK) Landscape Manager plays the lead role in the planning, coordination, and management of the WWF effort to conserve the natural resources along the Mekong. He/she is responsible for all aspects of this work, including the planning, development, management, financial, and administrative aspects of the landscape programme. He/she will be responsible for maintaining relationships with key provincial and national government partners, NGOS, and the international scientific community.  The position is based in Kratie province
 
Major Responsibilities:
  • Manage the implementation of a Freshwater Conservation Strategy
  • Develop proposals and secure funding for freshwater conservation projects and activities
  • Manage and provide technical support to all freshwater conservation projects (now 4 projects) and activities
  • Coordinate trans-boundary conservation work with WWF Lao's Freshwater Conservation Programme
  • Provide technical input to the development of freshwater management policies
  • Implement and monitor cooperation agreements with Government agencies, NGOs, and development partners)
  • Provide technical support and capacity building in biological research, community extension, law enforcement, site management, and Integrated River Basin Management
  • Liaise with government and non-government partners
  • Engage with authorities on tourism development to improve/ensure sustainability regarding endangered species and river habitat.
  • Develop ToRs and assist in recruiting Freshwater Programme staff
 
Qualifications:
·       A university degree (preferably at Masters level) in a relevant discipline (such as biology, conservation, fisheries/wetlands or a natural resource management-related discipline)
·       At least 5 years experience managing conservation or natural resource management programmes or multiple projects
·       Experience of co-operative work and negotiating with NGOs and Government officials at all levels
·       Significant supervisory experience with the ability to manage and interact at all levels of an international, multicultural and multilingual organization
·       Proven fund-raising achievements
·       Experience of working in Cambodia or the Mekong region
 
Job LocationKratie Province
Duration: 2 years, extendable dependent on funding.
Expected starting date: As soon as possible
