Experimental Fluid Processes Scientist

Primary Tasks
  • Undertake lab-based research investigating fluid flow and associated hydromechanical coupling in low permeability systems
  • Interpretation of resulting data in relation to research on the geological disposal of radioactive waste and underground storage, including responsibility for methodology development, including health and safety procedures, using a range of techniques
  • Contribute to written reports and publications for existing projects
  • Presentation of results at project and international meetings
  • Contribute to the preparation and presentation of proposals to a range of internal and external clients
Secondary Tasks
  • Provide expertise to support development of new projects in radwaste, CCS, underground storage and resource exploitation
  • Assist in the development of strategy for future similar work at BGS
  • Development of novel experimental methods and approaches
