Eurofinas, the European Federation of Finance House Associations, is looking for a LEGAL ADVISER to join its Brussels-based Secretariat.
Eurofinas is the voice of the consumer credit industry at European level and the key interlocutor of the EU institutions on all issues relating to the European consumer credit industry.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The position entails:
- Identifying, monitoring, analyzing and reporting on a broad range of European initiatives that may impact upon the activities of consumer credit providers;
- Assessing the impact of, and drafting position/briefing papers on, the said initiatives;
- Managing various Working Groups and Task Forces;
- Representing the Federation vis-à-vis EU institutions;
- Advising on lobbying strategies and putting them into practice;
- Carrying out ad hoc surveys and analysis;
- Liaising with member associations;
- Reporting to the Federation’s Committees and Board;
- Participating in relevant Working Groups of the European Banking Industry Committee (EBIC);
- Providing the Secretariat to the Board and General Assembly;
- Contributing to a wide range of Eurofinas activities and events;
- Raising the profile of the Federation and increasing its visibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have:
- University degree in law with first rate academic record;
- Preferably 2 years of relevant work experience;
- A background in financial services is a distinct asset;
- Good knowledge of the EU institutions and their functioning;
- Fluency (native level) in English essential; another European language is an asset;
- Demonstrated first class drafting and presentation skills;
- Thorough analytical skills;
- Superior attention to details;
- Rigour;
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise;
- Good sense of diplomacy;
- Problem-solving attitude.
