Traineeship Gallup Brussels, Belgium

In Europe, Gallup started survey research in 1937 and is dedicated to researching issues with a pan-European or global spread. 
In Brussels, The Gallup Organisation - Europe (Gallup Europe) coordinates Gallup's pan European polling activities and provides policy-related measurement, consultancy and training serving all stakeholder groups ranging from national governments, European and international institutions to business, media, civil society organisations and academia based in Europe. 

The Opportunity

Gallup Europe is recruiting a trainee to work within its small but dynamic and busy team in Brussels as of the beginning of end of April / early May for a period of 3 months. 
The trainee will be an integral part of the team and will be involved in most of the related daily business development and marketing/communications tasks including but not limited to: 

• Monitoring and research of new business opportunities 
• Assisting in the preparation of bids and support client pursuits 
• Monitoring news and activities of EU institutions and related Brussels-based organisations 
• Drafting of new communications materials 
• Assistance with the further development of Gallup’s websites and social media strategy 
• Support in all aspects of event organisation 
• Participation in conferences, seminars and workshops related to Gallup’s interests 
• Support office administration (managing contact directories and updating databases)

Compensation will be provided. Gallup will also offer to shoulder transportation cost. 

Candidate profile

• Strong academic background (MSc, BA or MA level in economics, political science, law, marketing/communications, business administration or management) 

• Previous relevant experience in EU public administration, consultancies, international or European organisations is an advantage 

Key competences

• Good understanding of EU institutions, and EU policies and programmes 
• Excellent communication skills, ability to establish good relationships with clients, partners and experts 
• Strong research, analytical and writing skills; strategic and entrepreneurial mind set 
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment, high commitment and flexibility 
• Ability to work independently and with others, a high degree of accuracy and creativity, and a strong sense of responsibility 
• Fully computer literate; excellent knowledge of MS Office suite and at ease with social media 
• Efficient time-management 

Language skills

• Excellent oral and written English is essential 
• Proficiency in at least one other EU language is an asset 

Miscellaneous

• A work permit for Belgium is mandatory as Gallup will not sponsor non-EU citizens for visas or permanent resident status for this position nor support any travel, accommodation or relocation cost for this internship.
