Position Summary
As a member of the Jackdaw Project Management Team, the Controls and Instrumentation Engineer (CIE) will provide controls and instrumentation input into the concept SELECT stage, the FEED and later stages of this ultra High Pressure High Temperature (uHPHT) development project.
Key Accountabilities

The CIE is accountable for the development and execution of the pre-sanction Controls and Instrumentation engineering scope using appropriate resources. The CIE will support the Jackdaw Engineering Manager in assuring that the development meets BG PMS (Project Management System) and (Technical Assurance System) TAS compliance. They will be the owners of the Controls and Instrumentation elements of the Jackdaw Development Basis of Design.
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
The CIE will possess experience in concept selection and FEED design processes associated with upstream oil and gas developments.

Educated to first degree level in a relevant discipline; a chartered member of a relevant engineering institution or international equivalent. It is preferred that the CIE has u/HPHT or HPHT experience.

The CIE reports to the Jackdaw Engineering Manager, works collaboratively with the other development team members, and consultatively with relevant functional members of both UK Upstream in Aberdeen and BG Advance (BGA) in Reading. Excellent interpersonal skills are a prerequisite for the position.

Key interfaces:
- internal to Jackdaw: the Development Team (including team specialists and externally contracted support)
- external to Jackdaw: BG Advance; Offshore Europe in Aberdeen; Partner engineers
Additional Information for External Candidates
The role is based in Reading, UK however, travel to contractor offices and Aberdeen will be required.
