The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. 
Position Summary
The position assists with the implementation of the Indigenous Employment, Training and Business Development Strategy across the QCLNG Project area by providing indigenous employment and training placement management services and maintaining QGC’s indigenous employment/training/business development databases.

They will do this through direct liaison with Traditional Owner (TO) groups and relevant agencies, and contractor engagement and management.
Key Accountabilities
Position Specific• Engage with QGC’s contractors with regard to job vacancies and promote indigenous candidates for positions.
• Engage with QGC’s contractors with regard to training needs/ opportunities for indigenous employees and manage training initiatives.
• Manage day-to-day relationship with QGC’s Indigenous Candidate Database agency contracted to provide suitable candidates/ resumes for vacant positions.
• Oversee School Based Training (SBT) Initiatives as required, such as absenteeism from training by students.
• Maintain databases of Employment, Training and Business Development outcomes for reporting purposes.
• Prepare Funding Agreements for employment, training and business development programs.
• Provide mentoring duties either by phone or in the field as required, in conjunction with the Workplace Mentor.
• Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of relationships with indigenous stakeholders, including traditional owners in consultation with the Indigenous Relations Manager.
• Support other members of the QCLNG Project team as required.
• Take on new tasks and responsibilities when the Project enters the operations phase.

People Management• The contractor must abide by company policy in relation to HR policies and procedures such as annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE)• Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountabilities for HSSE, all Contractors are accountable for HSSE within their area of the Business and are responsible for ensuring that their team (if applicable) adopt exemplary HSSE behaviours
• All QGC Contractors are expected to be aware of, and adhere to the Business Principles at all times under Conduct, Our People, Society and HSSE and to participate in relevant training
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience Required
• Previous experience in developing, maintaining and utilising databases related to indigenous employment, training and business development.
• Previous experience in working with employers and contractors to employ, train and retain indigenous people
• Cultural awareness and experience in dealing with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
• Knowledge of legislative requirements with respect to employment and training in the resource industry
• Sound understanding and support for the role of community relations in an industrial context
• Experience in managing administration activities associated with Employment and Training programs

Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes
• Good influencing and negotiation skills
• Ability to work alone and unsupervised on occasions
• Ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels and capacity to deal with conflict including potentially difficult or hostile situations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Flexibility to undertake new tasks and take on new responsibilities as the project enters the operations phase
