The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. 
Position Summary
The role will be Brisbane based and will coordinate QGC’s the end-to-end landholder relationship life. The objective of this role is to coordinate the delivery of Land Access and landholder engagement services and the maintenance of long term landholder relationships through the provision of support to field-based colleagues in Field Corporate Services.

Under the direction of the Land Delivery Manager, and in association with the field-based team, this will include:
• Delivery compliance against all legislative and internal policies
• Ensuring that all land access negotiations are closed out and documented using the appropriate land access permissions, clearances and compensation agreements.
• Ensuring that all compensation is paid and grievances or legacy issues are addressed .
• Ensuring that enduring and positive landholder relationships are maintained.

This role requires a strong focus on collaborating within the Brisbane team to support field based colleagues through advisory and project management assistance, and documentation to:
• Facilitate timely access to land
• Ensure engagement and negotiation with landowners and stakeholders in a consistent, fair approach.
Key Accountabilities
Position Specific• Actively manage the progress of Land Access transactions throughout the entire Land Access process
• Take action to address delays, using the various interfaces available
• Develop and amend all legal documentation associated with the land access process including but not limited to Compensation Agreements Deed of Amendments and statutory notices for negotiations, ensuring quality assurance to outgoing and incoming documentation especially to non-routine matters
• Manage and ensure land access transactions comply with QGC and BG Group Policy and legislative requirements
• Assist field based colleagues with landowner negotiations (as required) to ensure timely access to land
• Escalate issues to Land Delivery Manager (as required) to ensure issues are dealt with promptly and that QGC operations are not affected
• Provide advice on QGC’s Land and Community process and policy to external and internal stakeholders as well as field-based colleagues to facilitate best strategy for progression of discussions with Landholders and their communities
• Validate QGC’s current involvement with the Landholder
• Assist with compensation payments to Landholders and/or facilities in line with the land access compensation framework and contractual agreements
• Be familiar with, and support the implementation of QGC’s grievance management process
• Develop and maintain good relationships with the community and other team members as required
• Work with the business to ensure accurate records of all land access approvals are maintained using agreed systems, tools and guidelines
• Adhere to best practice and actively contribute to workflow improvements and operating procedures to ensure alignment to QGC standards and legislative requirements.

People Management• The incumbent must adhere to the annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience• Previous experience in a similar role, legal- commercial or property
• Experience working in energy or Oil & Gas industries, preferred
• Demonstrated experience operating in a role which required building and maintaining strong professional relationships with stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience understanding and applying rules, procedures and standards to ensure high quality outcomes
• Critical thinking to identify solutions to possibly complex issues
• Previous exposure to rural / farming business and communities
 
Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes• Tertiary qualifications in science, law, engineering, business or a related field
• Sound regulatory knowledge;
   Environmental Protection Act;
   Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act ;
   Cultural Heritage Act;
• Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
• Highly effective interpersonal skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to solve complex problems
• Ability to close out deals
• Excellent written communication and report writing skills
• Actively contribute to development of a team culture
• High level of computing skills, including excellent document and record management
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload for maximum effectiveness. 
Special Features
• Role will involve field work including frequent travel to remote locations to undertake core job responsibilities
• Incumbent may be required to undertake job rotation with other Land Access Advisors within the Land Delivery team
