About the role
The Operations Manager is responsible for providing support to GRM’s in-country corporate presence, whilst providing administrative, operational and human resources leadership, support and advice to a range of in-country project teams that are currently operating in PNG.
Key responsibilities include:
- Foster constructive relationships with project and program managers, team leaders, teams and clients
- Manage the implementation and management of GRM’s Health, Safety, Security and Environment management system
- Support the GRM corporate staff, Project Managers and Coordinators and team leaders with administrative support and management backstopping, including coordinating employment contracts, obtaining PNG work permits/visas, banking support, as well as induction and training activities
- Manage the in-PNG payroll system
- Manage fleet and lease vehicle arrangements.
About You
You will hold a professional qualification in either, business or human resource management, along with demonstrated career experience in a management capacity within a developing country, preferably PNG.
You will have a sound understanding of the social, political and economic environment within PNG, and your proven history of interacting, negotiating and influencing key stakeholders, clients and team members within this area will be essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid background in office management within a centralised support function environment, and a strong interest in the international development sector to join a well-established managing contractor.
