The Organisation
QGC is a rapidly growing explorer and producer of natural gas – a more environmentally friendly hydrocarbon. We employ almost 9000 people in developing one of Australia’s biggest capital infrastructure projects, the multi-billion dollar Queensland Curtis LNG, to export liquefied natural gas. Our 12-week paid Summer Vacation Program will commence 2 December 2013. This program will provide you with the opportunity to gain hands on work experience within an Oil and Gas major working on one of the largest capital infrastructure projects in Australia and be mentored by world class technical experts. Upon completion of the program you will have gained behavioural and technical skills that you will carry through your career and be well positioned to be considered for our International Graduate Development Program applications in 2014. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Position Summary
During the program, you will have the opportunity to participate in a formal induction, field trips, networking events, lunch and learns and other development activities whilst receiving coaching from technical experts across the business.As a chemical or process engineering student you will be placed within one of our engineering or operations teams which may provide you experience within our midstream and/or upstream engineering, operations or technical operations | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Key Accountabilities
• Undertake a defined project or scope of work as directed by your line manager or supervisor• Participate in scheduled development activities • Deliver a presentation on conclusion of the program of work completed and lessons learnt • Attend a formal performance review upon completion of the program • Seek feedback and coaching from peers, colleagues and mentors • An ability to work in Brisbane for the duration of the program and undertake domestic travel to Chinchilla and Gladstone as required. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
To be considered for the program you will need to be a Chemical engineering student in your penultimate year of study in 2013. We are looking for effective communicators with a proactive approach to problem solving, intermediate MS Office skills, strong time management and well developed research skills.
Recruitment activities will take place in July and August 2013 and you will be required to attend an assessment centre in Brisbane in August 2013.
