Management Accountant – UKPP

Management Accountant – UKPP £28,960to £36,090 per annum Oxford
More than 13.5 million people in Britain live in poverty. That's more than one in five without enough to live on, discriminated against, and with more barriers to achieving their potential than anyone else. Oxfam believes it's unacceptable that millions of people in the UK don't have enough for a decent standard of life. Our UK Poverty Programme (UKPP) is helping to address that. This is your chance to join the fight.
The role Based in Oxford, with frequent travel to our regional offices in the UK, you’ll manage the UKPP’s financial management information systems and support our teams in the field to understand finances, budgeting and how to account for project funds correctly. That means lots of capacity building and skills development, as well as supporting the UKPP Business and Funding Manager, the Director and the Management team in managing unrestricted and restricted funds. You’ll produce, analyse and interpret financial reports and lead overall budget control, forecasting and coordination between the various stakeholders, which makes your role a key one to the success of individual programmes – and ultimately UKPP as whole.
What we’re looking for This is a great opportunity to use your skills work to overcome poverty and suffering, that’s why we need someone who is ACCA or CIMA qualified or part-qualified - someone with really solid accounting skills and the ability to work on their own initiative. Proven management and planning experience are important as is experience of working with computerised accounting and coding systems, including good knowledge of spreadsheet design and implementation. Excellent communication skills will also be important, as you’ll be explaining financial concepts to non-finance staff and coaching and training our teams. Also you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders and see the work we do first-hand. Whilst some experience in the third sector would be welcome, we need someone who is motivated to make a positive contribution to the work we do.
