To celebrate the University's research successes, the Faculty of Health and Social Care, University of Hull, is offering the following UK/EU Scholarships or International Fees Bursaries.
Three full time PhD University Scholarships
Two full-time, or up to 3 UK/EU only part-time PhD University Alumni Scholarships
Applications are welcomed from students who wish to study subjects allied to one of our Research Development Groups (RDG's):
Wellbeing in Long Term Conditions
  • Skin health and integrity
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Self-management in long term conditions
  • Lifeworld led care and education
  • Humanisation
Maternal Reproductive and Sexual Health
  • Teenage sexual health/pregnancy
  • Obesity and reproduction
  • Psychological aspects of maternal/reproductive/sexual health
Health Technologies, Innovation and Intervention
  • Technological interventions e.g. telehealth/telemedicine
  • Educational technologies and interventions for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health
Due to the nature of telehealth as a rapidly expanding area of work within the faculty, one of our prestigious Alumni scholarships is specifically designated for a study within this field.  However in support of our proactive approach to collaboration across our RDG's, proposed studies which investigate telehealth in relation to one of our other key areas would be welcome.

The full-time UK/EU PhD Scholarships will include fees at the 'home/EU' student rate and maintenance (£13,590 in 2013/14, subject to final confirmation) for three years, depending on satisfactory progress.
Full-time International Fee PhD Studentships will include full fees at the International student rate for three years, dependant on satisfactory progress, but no living expenses.
PhD students at the University of Hull follow modules for research and transferable skills development and gain a Masters level Certificate, or Diploma, in Research Training, in addition to their research degree.
