About the Job:
MEDA is looking for a Finance and Fund Manager - Yemen ADEN. Under the supervision of the managing director, s/he will manage finances and accounting in the project, with the partner financial institutions, and support with donor reporting.
MEDA is looking for a Finance and Fund Manager - Yemen ADEN. Under the supervision of the managing director, s/he will manage finances and accounting in the project, with the partner financial institutions, and support with donor reporting.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for agreements, contracts, and would manage the logistics for ADEN;
- Ensure ADEN's effective performance for the key duties related to: financial institution (FI) financial review, disbursements, business planning;
- Overall fund management and portfolio performance;
- ADEN budgeting and financial planning and reporting;
- General accounting and financial management of ADEN in line with International Financial Reporting Standards and processes of external audit are in place;
- Leading the design and implementation of internal controls for processes and business activities to minimize exposure of operational, financial, and compliance risks.
Qualifications:
- University degree, ideally a Masters, and ideally combining the disciplines of Finance and Professional Accounting Certification such as CA, ACCA (or related certification);
- Proven track record of at least 5 years experience in financial management, fund management, and implementation, accounting, or related field;
- Minimum of 2 years financial management experience in Yemen is highly preferred;
- Strong understanding of bi- and multi-lateral government agencies, donors (particularly EC, DFID, USAID), non-governmental organizations, and other development agencies working in Yemen's microfinance sector;
- Excellent skills in communication, relationship building, intercultural engagement, networking, and interpersonal communication, negotiation and leadership;
- Excellent computing and analytical skills and up-to-date developments in the microfinance sector;
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-past, constantly changing program;
- Fluency in Arabic and previous work experience in Yemen or MENA region is required.
