Public Health Information Management Officer


A summary of the key tasks that will be performed include:
• Liaise closely with UNHCR Health Coordinators to ensure a regular flow of public health data from country to regional level, according to a regular reporting calendar.
• Support UNHCR and its partners to implement existing UNHCR information management tools according to the context, and/or develop new data collection, analysis and reporting tools to support monitoring at regional level.
• Support UNHCR and its implementing partners in the analysis, interpretation, dissemination and use of public health data. This includes support to improve data timeliness, completeness and quality.
• Prepare regular statistical bulletins of public health data and share with decision makers at country, regional and HQ levels.
• Facilitate the use of data and information among stakeholders for program and policy decision making, awareness raising and advocacy.
• Liaise with national counterparts to ensure integration of refugee public health data into national health information and disease surveillance systems.
• Advise and support UNHCR and its partners to design and implement public health evaluations and special studies to complement routinely collected information.
• Ensure data security and confidentiality standards are met and maintained.
• Perform other duties commensurate with training and experience evolving from emerging needs and as assigned by the technical supervisor.
Qualification and Experience of Consultant:
At least 5 years relevant experience, Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or Public Health Information Management, Extensive knowledge of information systems and working with large datasets, Fluent in English. Knowledge of Arabic desirable.
