Qualifications: This internship opportunity is tailored for students who have an interest in video editing and techical television production. Candidates for this position should be highly motivated, ambitious, have a good attitude and not be afraid to take on new challenges every day.
Duties: Please Note: Students @ Work Internships are paid at minimum-wate and structured to last approximately 12 weeks. Program dates are June 4th - Aug. 10th. Course Credit is available. Resume is required. Students should have a strong academic record (3.0 strongly preferred). Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship (i.e. STUDENTS MUST BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOL DURING THE TIME OF THIS INTERNSHIP). Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply.
Note to INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program.
Due to the high volume of candidates for Turner's Internship Program, interested students are encouraged to apply for openings as soon as possible, as these positons will be filled on an ongoing basis. Future semester Internship postings will be available after the current semester deadline.
Student interns will have an opportunity to gain a wide variety of experiences in studio production and video editing. Candidates for this internship should be interested in editing on the latest technology in a fast paced newsroom environment. Interns may learn how to edit on Final Cut Pro. Duties may include library searches and retrieval of archived material, spending time with our desk assistants who help dub and feed out necessary video, and helping out our post production editors with simple requests. Interns may learn to edit sound bites, voiceovers, and replay segments for air. Interns may have the opportunity to accompany local field shoots and observe live shots, interviews, and assist with b-roll acquisition. Interns may have the opportunity to shadow other positions including, writing, documenting, studio production, and producing.
