The successful incumbent will be responsible for Managing negotiating prices and contracts with supply vendors, purchasing products and general cost analysis. The Senior Procurement Superintendent is responsible for thecompany spending efficiency and providing general pricing leadership.
Requirements:
- Matric/ Grade 12 certificate
- Bachelors of Commerce: Supply Chain or equivalent
- A post-graduate qualification in Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
- 8-10 Years experience in the supply chain process with a minimum of 8 years in a contracts position and minimum of3-5 years in managerial position with in the mining industry
- Must be computer literate with excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
- Manage the Procurement function and Supply chain by developing and coordinating functional systems, plans for the distribution process for materials and equipment
- Align to the overall Operations strategy and policies of the organisation, as well as supply chain management, through communication and direction from the HOD Finance
- Effective management of Procurement staff overseeing all contracts conform to company policies and procedures
- Ensure performance matrices are implementation of internal controls in order to identify problems well before theycompromise contractual performance levels
- Ensure that the required service levels, the expected performance and quality of service to be delivered are in place
- Act as an interface between the service provider and the mine. Handle requests for incorporating new requirements into the contracts
- Coordinate preliminary investigation in to the any new requirements in order to determine whether it should goforward in the formal change control procedure
- Manage upwards to ensure that senior management is informed about issues before they escalate and can intervene as appropriate
- Handles the formal governance of the contract and changes to the contract documentation.
- Implementation of clear administrative procedures to ensure that all parties to the contract understand all aspects
- Implement Management reporting procedures in order to control specific information passed to management about contracts
- Ensure all contract related documentation is document controlled en order to ensure that no changes are made without appropriate authorization
- Ensure corporate governance is applied on the contract management process
- Prepare, issue and evaluate Request for proposals (RFP) to suppliers
- Responsible for preparing and negotiating subcontract agreements
- Negotiating contracts with major subcontractors
- Ensure that all contractual terms and conditions are accurate , appropriate and all prime contracts are adequately completed
- Major subcontract negotiating and management
- Attend project and steering committee meetings
- Preparation of purchasing protocols and Supplier identification and selection
- Excellent communication skills verbally and written
- The ideal candidate must be diplomatic, mature and able to interact with suppliers and internal customers
- Must have the ability to work under pressure
