For our global campaign team we are looking for a qualified:


Officer, Global Campaigns

In May 2011, the WWF global network agreed to work together in developing global conservation campaigns. This shift toward global campaigning was intended to: 
  • Increase conservation impact
  • Align national, regional and global approaches to the conservation work of WWF
  • Grow WWF’s positioning as a global leader in the field of conservation
  • Foster better skill-sharing, capacity-building and internal communications
  • Create a culture of campaigning within the network

To achieve these goals WWF has begun building a global campaign team.

The incumbent will oversee the coordination mechanisms and capacity building elements of campaigning. This position will be focused on network outreach, capacity building tools, improved internal campaign communication and the development of a network calendar, identifying the various campaigns (as well as their objectives) being led by programmes around the globe.

Location:

At our WWF Turkey Offices in Istanbul.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop a WWF network forward planning calendar for national, regional and global campaigns;
  • Establish and implement best practices, methodologies and procedures to improve WWF’s campaigning effectiveness;
  • Support WWF’s global campaign advisory group, committed to improving and guiding global conservation campaigns;
  • Take a leading role in supporting capacity-building, skill/experience-sharing for campaigners in the network;
  • Identify and create learning and training opportunities for all WWF staff to build and enhance campaigning skills and expertise;
  • Facilitate greater national, regional and global information-sharing on existing campaigns.

What you need:

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
  • At least three years proven experience supporting, formulating and implementing campaign strategies within a national, international or high-profile organization;
  • Proven experience as a successful campaigner, preferably but not necessarily in the not-for-profit sector;
  • Demonstrated experience working in international arenas;
  • Experience in supporting advocacy campaigns, targeting government and/or corporations a plus;
  • Expertise in campaigning techniques, policies, strategies, target audience analysis, structure and impact;
  • Experience in improving the implementation of campaigns, their development and strategic direction;
  • Long-term planning and analytical skills, as well as demonstrated ability to multi-task and work effectively to tight deadlines without compromising quality;
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary teams and in building consensus, optimism and confidence in the face of challenges and pressure;
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to communicate complex issues in a clear manner to a wide variety of audiences across diverse channels (online, TV, print, radio, etc.);
  • Excellent presentation and motivation skills.
  • Fluent English is essential, other languages would be an asset;
