The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel. Position Summary
The position will be responsible for the development and implementation of QGC’s community and stakeholder engagement plans and activities. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Key Accountabilities
Position Specific• Assist with the development and rollout of an overarching Stakeholder Engagement Framework• Assist with the identification of social risks and potential impacts of planned construction and operations activities and apply risk reduction conditions where necessary Plan and coordinate QGC’s external community/stakeholder engagement activities to support high social/reputation risk construction and operations activities for QCLNG and new ventures • Facilitate Community Engagement Review Committee • Monitoring and assurance of field based community engagement activities to ensure consistent, proactive engagement that meets regulatory compliance and business objectives • Support Field based Social Performance teams in delivery of key community engagement materials and activities • Development and implementation of community engagement plans • Prepare and coordinate notification engagement activities to meet regulatory compliance • Development of targeted key messages • Plan and coordinate community engagement activities; including community information sessions, events etc. • Determine appropriate relationship owner for stakeholders • Work with the broader Sustainability Team to advise and take action on communication and community engagement activities • Liaison with core internal stakeholders in Upstream, Midstream, Pipeline, Land and Community Management, Field Corporate Services, HSSE, Government Affairs and Communications. • Keep abreast of issues which may impact the delivery of QGC business objectives and adjust engagement approaches accordingly People Management• The incumbent must abide by company policy in relation to HR policies and procedures such as annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE)• Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience Needed
• High level of expertise in stakeholder identification, analysis, engagement and management.
• Experience of working on large-scale industrial projects, ideally across the construction and operations phases • Substantial experience in one or more of the fields of social performance, communications, community engagement • Proven experience of project management, including setting objectives, delivery against milestones and budget • Proven experience of building effective stakeholder relations
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes• Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, social science or related fields
• Understanding of Australian resource development and environmental and community issues and processes as they affect approvals processes and timing • Sound understanding of social and reputation risks and ability to propose risk reduction and management solutions • Proven ability to plan and implement a communications strategy • High level of expertise in developing professional communication materials • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a high level of diplomacy • Ability to effectively communicate and consult with clients, industry, stakeholders and the community • Ability to build relationships across different organisations with different priorities and work styles • Ability to effectively influence and present issues credibly to internal and external audiences • Self-motivated, productive and uses initiative • Ability to work with a team and share knowledge • Highly organised, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities • Results, time and value driven • Capacity to manage in uncertain, ambiguous and discontinuous circumstances • Tenacity and high energy with a ‘can-do’ attitude
Special Features
• Role will involve domestic travel
