The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.
We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel. Position Summary
The primary purpose of the role is to provide Completion Engineering Support for QGC. The incumbent will be required to prepare well completion designs and implement studies to ensure constant design and operational improvement with multi-discipline asset teams.
The incumbent must ensure completions, completion operations, well testing and stimulation operations are in accordance with BG minimum standards. The incumbent will also be involved in reviewing, revising and implementing the Well Integrity Management System. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Key Accountabilities
Position Specific • Ensure that all well completion operations performed in compliance with the approved QGC Project and BG Policies. These include, but are not limited to, directives/policy on business ethics, security, health, safety and the environment.
• Provide Completion Engineering Support for QGC completion operations, workovers, well testing and stimulation operations across the main CSG projects and also the Exploration activities. • Provide engineering support to the Principle Completion and Stimulations Engineers, Well Services Superintendents, OCR’s and Well Services Team Leader • Assist with the review, revision and implementation of the Well Integrity Management System • Control, maintain and report on the progress during the completion operations • Carry out the necessary engineering design studies to ensure that the Completions Team achieve the well objectives in the most efficient manner whilst ensuring that the risks of unplanned release of fluids from the well are ALARP • Fully document the completion and stimulation bases of design and design studies • Ensure that a “lessons learnt” culture is present • Strive to improve completions, workover, stimulation and non conventional completion operations by introducing appropriately researched new technology, applications, procedures and methods • Ensure Asset compliance with BG Group systems and procedures and Government legislative requirements • Ensure Third Party Operator compliance with BG Group systems and procedures • Review and assist with dispensation request preparation • Review completion time and cost estimates for time and cost optimisation purposes • Review drilling program interfaces and ensure compliance with completion objectives • Manage the post-well operations reporting process to ensure the optimisation of operational data collation and interrogation to be used for continuous design and operational improvement • Assist with the peer review of well designs, planning and operational programming and budget to ensure incorporation of best methods and optimum solutions • Work with the project and sub-surface teams to ensure well designs and operational techniques are continuously reviewed and optimised • Provide engineering support to contracting activities. • Prepare technical scopes of work for all completion related third party services and drilling service contracts in line with the tendering strategy • Carry out the technical evaluation of third party services and drilling service contract tenders in line with the tendering strategy People Management• Deputise as required for the Principal Completions Engineer and maintain open communication with BGA Well Engineering • Mentor Graduate Completions Engineers • The incumbent must abide by company policy in relation to HR policies and procedures such as annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE)• Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Technical Experience • Tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline – (petroleum or mechanical preferred) or equivalent qualification / experience
Experience • Industry experience in CSG or conventional Completion operations • Field based experience at completions rigs • Capability using technical software packages including Wellcat and Prosper • Proven ability to identify useful developing technologies or techniques and devise studies to prove their usefulness and cost benefits • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams • Experience with safety management systems • Experience providing technical advice and troubleshooting • Experience with emergency response management

Special Features
