International Business Team

London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) runs a programme of trade missions and international events to provide members and potential members with opportunities to expand their export business. This is achieved through the provision of information on various markets, and networking with other exporters. The International Business team runs approximately eight trade missions and 25 events a year, which include seminars and training courses. The Team also promotes International Membership of the Chamber and is part of the European Commission’s largest business support network, the Enterprise Europe Network.

International Business Executive

Reporting to the Head of International Business Team, the job holder will be required to develop, plan and provide a range of services and events that will enable members and non-members to exploit international trade opportunities. This may entail a particular continent focus, such as Africa, Middle East and/or Eastern Europe.

Key responsibilities

  • Organise a full programme of events each year, focussing on a particular continent, if appropriate, although incorporating other markets where necessary;
  • Source sponsorship and speakers, market the events, handle customer enquiries, manage the events;
  • Organise trade missions to relevant markets;
  • Work closely with UKTI London and British Embassies to develop the mission programme and clarify overseas costs, market the missions and process applications; develop good working relationships with mission members in the UK and abroad; develop own knowledge of each market;
  • Initiate and contribute to new team initiatives as appropriate;
  • Contribute to the international pages of LCCI’s website and London Business Matters with articles and information as needed;
  • Demonstrate a high standard of written and spoken English in all media, including emails, seminar notes, website articles, letters and on the telephone;
  • Contribute to the realisation of the Enterprise Europe Network project.

General

  • Contribute to LCCI’s membership focus;
  • Produce leads for membership team; represent International Business at evening networking events and dinners;
  • Contribute to team objectives and financial targets;
  • Overseas travel is anticipated up to five times a year;
  • Attend meetings organised by LCCI partners and local stakeholders;
  • Attend events organised by LCCI and other business partners.
