We are seeking a full-time staff member to join our Livelihoods and Rural Development (LRD) practice. The LRD practice area designs and implements projects in developing countries (especially in Africa and Asia) to enhance livelihood opportunities and social protection for the most vulnerable groups.
Based in our London office, we are seeking a Consultant to be involved in bidding for, designing and delivering consultancy services in:
  • Livelihoods programmes including asset and cash transfer programmes;
  • Design, management and reform of social protection systems;
  • Development of agriculture and land markets, including application of the M4P concept;
  • Empowerment programmes, with a focus on women and girls;
  • Economic feasibility studies in the agriculture sector and market analysis;
  • Climate change adaptation and mitigation;
  • Monitoring and evaluation of donor funded projects / programmes.

This is an exciting and demanding role requiring the ability to work in a team and to strict deadlines. Candidates must have:
  • A post-graduate qualification in economics or related discipline and sound theoretical and practical abilities demonstrated by successful outcomes;
  • A proven track record in preparation of technical and financial proposals and delivering donor funded projects for DFID, WB, EC, MCC;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to travel to developing and fragile states;
  • Fluency in English.
Remuneration is internationally competitive, comprising salary, plus bonus, and private medical and life insurance. Candidates with less than five years relevant experience will need to demonstrate exceptional qualities.
