Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), an internationally recognized presenter of contemporary performing arts and cinema, seeks Full-Time New Business Development Coordinator to research and propose new ideas related to the development of new corporate sponsorship opportunities for BAM.
Job Responsibilities:
- Aid in the preparation for pitches to potential funders.
- Provide administrative support to the Director, Corporate Sponsorships/ New Business Development.
- Determine and solicit possible new sponsorship opportunities through research, persistence and keeping a pulse on the market place
- Prepare high quality, relevant and appealing decks in order to make a strong business case to potential new funders
- Ensure the Director has all relevant information needed to prepare and present at prospecting meetings
- Execute outbound cold calling campaigns to targeted prospects to generate sales ready qualified leads and sets appointments for the sales team.
- Research, develop, and foster new business opportunities
- Create and maintain relationships with potential sponsors
- Maintain records for all business development activities and respond to inbound inquiries from prospective customers (phone, email, and web).
- Make a high volume of outbound calling via targeting sales campaigns to prospective customers sufficient to meeting daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly activity objectives.
- Actively participate in the execution and management of BAM's new business development programs including the ability to multi-task, handling logistics and follow through on multiple events/programs at the same time.
- Identify new corporate sponsors and maximize fund development opportunities through various business development techniques including cold-calling, following up on warm leads and attending networking events; consistently research ways to create partnerships with local businesses.
- Deliver organized, structured, and persuasive presentations; listen to and understand others, and ensure that written and verbal communication are culturally appropriate and consistently reflect BAM's mission, goals, values, and brand.
- Advise and assist in the development of an organization-wide fundraising strategy, plan and budget – including effective strategies for raising funds.
- Represent BAM in a professional and ethical manner to customers, prospects, partners, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with Design and Marketing team to execute business campaigns.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of BAMs current technologies and concepts to influence buying decisions.
- Giving presentations over the phone or in person to potential prospects
- Updating and verifying prospect information
- Thinking creatively and working to find new avenues for business
- Taking calls, answering potential donor inquiries, and providing excellent customer service
- Support attainment of sales quotas through lead generation (using online and in-person research, contact, and follow up) and lead qualification
- Manage the flow of communication for internal and external business relations, including gathering and disseminating information and coordinating executive input
- Manage and coordinate scheduling and travel arrangements
- Prepare for, and advise management of upcoming meetings and seminars
- Attend meetings, take minutes and complete follow-ups as required
- Draft and prepare documents including: typing/formatting/ proofreading of letters, reports, contracts, purchase orders, proposals etc.
- Conduct research, compiles data and prepares reports
- Act as a "Company Ambassador" at all times, to reflect the quality of the brand we are building
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3-6 years of experience in selling sponsorship, customer service, and experience in a Business Development role
- Expert knowledge of MS PowerPoint; knowledgeable in MS office, word and excel.
- Excellent research skills
- Comfortable with cold-calling prospective customers.
- Successful candidates will be self-starters, posses an energetic personality, have the ability to work independently, as well as with a team with a proactive approach and an eagerness to learn.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must
- Experience working with designers.
- Knowledge of design tools, knowledge of how design works & can build a presentation from a template

Salary is in the low $40K (Full benefits package is offered)
