People in Need seeks for Relief Program Coordinator for its Syrian program
People in Need’s programs for war-affected Syrian population focus mainly on emergency healthcare, food aid and preparedness for the up-coming winter. Activities are coordinated from neighbouring countries and performed in cooperation with local partners in Syria.
Relief Program Coordinator
Starting date: continuously starting December 2012/ January 2013
Duration : 3–6 months with possibility of prolongation
Main responsibilities:
• Field needs assessments, intervention planning and design (in accordance with security situation in the country) • Project management, monitoring, reporting • Coordination / Liaisoning with partners, donors and authorities • Support to local partners during programs implementation • Supervision of financial and administrative procedures
Main requirements:
• Proven experience in management of people and projects in emergency context • High motivation to provide humanitarian assistance • Fluent English both spoken and written, Arabic is an advantage • Ability to quickly adapt and get oriented in a new environment • Ability do make strategic decisions even in stressful context, under time pressure • Is open to cultural differences and can adjust the managerial style while working with people coming from different cultural backgrounds
