Job Summary:
To support Volvo’s Strategic Business Plan and Core Values through the provision of legal services to Volvo CE Business Area on a global basis.
The Legal Counsel will report directly to Volvo CE’s General Counsel.
Extensive travel may be required.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and guidance to Volvo CE Business Area on applicable laws and regulations and legal risks associated with various alternative means for achieving business objectives;
- Manage wide variety of legal issues related to Volvo CE Business Area including drafting and negotiating contracts, distribution, sales and marketing matters, compliance, litigation and regulatory issues;
- Ensure the maximum protection of Volvo CE Business Area’s legal rights utilizing a broad familiarity with most major legal disciplines;
- Oversee the preparation and interpretation of legal reports, statements or other documentation;
- Manage relationships with outside legal service providers;
- Working in close cooperation with business colleagues in a Team/Office environment;
- Able to perform multiple duties effectively in a fast paced environment whether working autonomously or under direction.
Critical Competencies:
Volvo CE is looking for a dedicated and driven legal counsel with a strong commercial interest that is able to work autonomously and take responsibility but also able to be part of a team with proficient skills in negotiating and drafting contracts, solid experience and knowledge in M&A, distribution & competition law, compliance issues and strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Minimum Experience:
Minimum of seven years’ experience as commercial lawyer required (either inside and/or outside counsel).
