Arabella Advisors is the nation's fastest growing and most innovative philanthropic investment advisory organization. The firm is seeking a mission-driven and entrepreneurial-spirited Managing Director (MD) to lead business development in the Northeast and be the face of Arabella's New York philanthropic efforts.

The Position
As the lead business developer for the New York office, the MD's initial focus will be on Arabella's New York strategic expansion increasing the client base and providing leadership to Arabella team members supporting new business. Additionally, the new MD will play an important role as part of Arabella's senior management team. In that capacity, s/he will influence the firm's strategic direction, lead knowledge exchanges, and generally collaborate with a group of talented MDs and other leaders.
Arabella seeks Managing Director candidates who thoroughly understand the current philanthropic landscape, trends, and key players. Ideally, s/he will have active exposure in developing new contacts within institutional foundations, significant individual and family donors, corporate foundations and channels such as wealth managers, family offices and philanthropic associations. The ideal candidate has been a thought-contributor to the philanthropic marketplace and is sought as a source for strategic problem solving. Creating connections through appropriate channels to foster mutually beneficial relationships for both clients and Arabella, the New York MD will be one of Arabella's most senior and respected team members.
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of 10 years related work experience in increasing scope and responsibility within dynamic and growing organizations is essential. Leadership experience in philanthropic or business settings is highly desirable. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the ability to conceptualize, administer, evaluate, and communicate strategic initiatives. Sales, marketing, and/or fundraising experience is important. A bachelor's degree is required. A graduate degree in a relevant field such as business, public policy, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
