BBC Radio Northampton serves a diverse, dynamic and fast-growing county. From the multi-million pound regeneration of Corby in the north to the picturesque villages of the south, the county generates a wealth of stories and issues that our listeners want to hear and talk about.

Role

We're looking for an ambitious and creative journalist to take on the flagship role of Breakfast Producer. This is a rare opportunity to develop a show with your own ideas and to inspire a programme team to meet your vision.
You'll drive the editorial for BBC Radio Northampton’s Breakfast Show, outputting the programme each morning and working with a team of reporters to create an ambitious, colourful show, in a great patch. We’ll want to know how you would develop the programme and its editorial content so that it sets the local news agenda, as well as brightening our listeners’ day.

Requirements

You’ll have significant experience in radio journalism, and a track record of actively producing live speech programmes. We want creative ideas and bold ambition, as well as great people skills. In return you’ll get a lot of responsibility and a lot of support.
If you would like to talk about the programme and the position informally before applying, please contact BBC Radio Northampton’s Managing Editor Jess Rudkin by email in the first instance (jess.rudkin@bbc.co.uk).
