ACDI/VOCA Chief of Party, Jordan

Chief of Party, Jordan
We are currently seeking an experienced Chief of Party for an anticipated multi-year USAID-funded community development program in Jordan. The goals of the project are strengthening community engagement in the context of regional volatility and transitions associated with domestic policy reform, economic conditions and demographic changes. The Chief of Party will provide principle management and representation of the project and all components including providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with all set regulations. This position is subject to ACDI/VOCA being awarded the program.
Responsibilities:
• Assume responsibility for the overall program management • Provide technical leadership, oversight, and support to all aspects of the program • Manage and supervise all project staff and consultants • Draft and finalize donor reports, including contractual reports and technical reports • Ensure that activities, expenses, and reporting are in compliance with USAID rules and regulations as well as ACDI/VOCA internal policies • Prepare or supervise the preparation of work plans, financial, logistical and other program documents • Review all financial and logistical information on a periodic basis • Serve as principal liaison with USAID staff, government and private sector institutions, and client country partners • Prepare and complete verbal or written presentations on project goals and successes • Serves as the direct contact between ACDI/VOCA home office and the program field offices
Qualifications:
• Masters or Doctorate Degree in international development, community engagement, governance, or a similar field • At least 10 years of experience supervising complex, fast-paced, politically-oriented field operations in emerging democracies, including at least three years of experience as a COP or Deputy COP (DCOP), or equivalent • Demonstrated experience managing or implementing projects focused on grants-making, community engagement, and training • Demonstrated experience and ability to establish systems under short time constraints and lead rapid project start-up • Experience hiring and supervising host-country personnel and ensuring they acquire the necessary training and skills to meet evolving program needs • Experience managing a USAID-funded project required • Prior work in the Middle East preferred • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Arabic highly desired
