Do you have what it takes…
to manage the building stock and building projects of the European Institutions?
The European Institutions' security services are looking for experts in the field of security of buildings to be based in Brussels or Luxembourg.
Managing our building stock and building projects, you will undertake conceptual work and far-reaching technical management, demanding real aptitude for drafting, analysis and leadership. In particular, you will find yourself operating, inspecting and servicing technical installations, drawing up feasibility studies for major improvements and drafting detailed specifications, whilst co-ordinating all aspects of contractors’ activities.
Notably, you will introduce measures to improve the energy and environmental performance of our buildings, driving forward our sustainable development agenda. At the same time, you will actively simplify our relevant procedures, manage a broad spectrum of contracts and undertake extensive procurement, so you will impact significantly on both our employees’ working conditions and our bottom line.
Together with an appropriate engineering degree, you will bring proven professional experience of preparing and overseeing building projects with technical installation budgets exceeding €500,000. This will have given you particular skills such as defining technical specifications, conducting market consultations, negotiating contracts and planning building maintenance, backed by good knowledge of ergonomics and energy conservation. Needless to say, you will have made your mark on buildings with above-ground floor space of at least 50,000 m2, giving you everything you need to hit the ground running, and you will be fluent in an official EU language with a good command of English, French or German.

Selection procedure

In the selection procedure, an open competition organised by the European Personnel Selection Office, your general and specific competencies for this job profile will be assessed in a series of tests and exercises. This will take place in Luxembourg.
