Overview: The Data Collection Team currently sits within Policy & Research and the Data Collection Assistant is part of a team which ensures that appropriate & accurate data is collected for UCAS operational & contractual purposes, for example, Course Search and the Big Map; Hotcourses and the British Council.
The Data Collection Assistant will assist in ensuring that appropriate & accurate data is collected for operational & contractual purposes by focusing on manual data manipulation for UCAS and non-UCAS course data, in accordance with specifications and guidelines, on multiple systems.
Role Responsibilities;
- To collect and input data to UCAS systems to required specifications
- To check, edit & approve data supplied from external sources to meet standards defined.
- To maintain logs and filing systems of data collection activities.
- To use subject classification systems to classify courses as required
- To contact HEIs to collect and verify data as appropriate
- To use the internet to research HEIs course & institution data
Minimum Criteria;
- GCSE: Grade C or above in English or an equivalent qualification
- The ability to work to targets and deadlines
- Computer literate: Microsoft Office Suite, Internet and in house systems
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
- The ability to identify and resolve problems and to escalate where necessary
- An understanding of Higher Education
- Meticulous attention to detail
