Job Summary: Support the Mobile Health Innovation team through the provision of accounting and finance support by managing accounts payable, accounts receivable (including preparation of invoices), G/L account reconciliations and analysis, monitor electronic timesheet and expense systems, and prepare expense reports.
Reporting and relationships: The Accounting Clerk will report to the Senior Business Analyst, Mobile Health Innovation.
Availability: The Accounting Clerk will be expected to work 8 hours per week and may be required to work additional hours occasionally.
Essential Job Functions
- Enter A/R and produce invoices;
- Enter A/P into accounting system;
- Use online travel and expense tool to extract expenses and prepare expense reports for members of the Mobile Health Innovation team
- Reconcile monthly corporate travel card activity and import for payment;
- Export and run reports as needed from the electronic timesheet system,;
- Use various electronic systems to investigate inquires by clients, vendors and management and report findings;
- Maintain document filing system and Excel based tracking of A/R and A/P;
- Prepare, follow, and maintain standard operating procedures;
- Perform other duties within the Mobile Health Innovation team as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Deep commitment to eradication of poverty and alignment with Grameen Foundation’s mission
- Strong expertise in Word and Excel along with general Windows applications;
- Manage and utilize accounting information systems; Dynamics Great Plains and QuickBooks preferred;
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with all staff members and outside vendors;
- Organizational, analytical and research skills as well as the ability to conceptualize more complex business issues and develop processes, procedures or solutions;
- Great communication skills and someone that is willing to learn on the job;
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma, A.S. or B.S. in Accounting or other business or related field preferred;
- 3-5 years of related experience. Additional extensive related practical experience may be substituted for the formal education.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
This position does not require unusual demands for physical effort. This position may occasionally require physical effort to lift and transport boxes weighing no more than 50 pounds. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of places such as offices, meeting or training rooms, residences, or commercial vehicles; e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, and/or avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations and traffic signals.
