Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Sr. Minister's Search Committee, perform recruitment duties for the Sr. Minister search. Perform routine clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, researching and gathering data, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, preparing reports and providing information to callers.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Assist Sr. Minister's Search Committee in writing the church/position profile
Post church/position profile with denominational affiliates, list with agencies, post on ministry websites and religious magazines
Schedule and organize interviews with suitable candidates
Assist in the preparation of necessary documents and interview questions
Communicate requirements and duties to prospective candidates
Assist in screening candidates
Maintain good relationship with all candidates
Keep records of candidate interviews
Maintain the internal resume database
Generate correspondence to the committee and congregants
Read and analyze incoming memos, submissions, and reports to determine their significance and plan their distribution
Manage phones and coordination of meetings for Sr. Minister's Search Committee
Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet or presentation software
File and retrieve documents, records and reports
Provides information by answering questions and requests
Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies
Performs other duties on an as needed basis.
Experience and Education Requirements:
High School diploma, Associates degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience with administrative and information technology disciplines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 2007, Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word, and Outlook
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
Self-motivated work ethic
Emotionally mature, trustworthy, reliable and professional
Ability to maintain confidentiality, to keep information private
A familiarity with and appreciation for The Riverside Church and its many programs
