Chief Financial Officer, United States


Pro Mujer is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) whose mission is to support Latin American women living in poverty to build better futures for themselves and their families through microfinance, business skills, and health care support. Pro Mujer leads the microfinance industry in addressing the poorest segment’s multiple needs and in pioneering creative solutions to build awareness and demand for health services. It also provides access to basic healthcare and health promotion and prevention education.
About the Job: 
Pro Mujer is looking for a Chief Financial Officer. S/he will be a central member of the senior leadership team and will provide leadership, input, and influence across the entire organization. S/he will directly manage a finance team of five in New York and functionally manage finance directors in five countries.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Work closely with the CEO, board of directors, country directors, and finance managers to develop recommendations regarding asset portfolio construction including: country and currency risk, credit monitoring, and debt management;
  • Provide regular communication with staff, investors, professional advisors, and other key stakeholders regarding investment practices and performance, as well as provide evidence that investments are being managed in line with investment objectives;
  • Lead the finance team, instilling a client-service approach to providing support to staff, which will maximize the organization’s impact on behalf of investors, partners, and the community;
  • Create and manage budgets and projections, as well as develop long-range forecasts and operating plans linked to the organization’s strategic plan.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred;
  • Minimum of 15 years related work experience in relevant positions of increasing scope and responsibility;
  • Integrity, excellent people skills, and a heartfelt commitment to Pro Mujer’s mission;
  • Previous experience working for an international organization or company in a similar capacity is highly desired;
  • Written and oral Spanish fluency is required;
  • Up to 40% travel is required.
