The Sierra Club is looking for a Military & Community Outdoor Recreation Organizer to help increase the number of service members, military families and veteran who participate in regular outdoor activities and recreation through our Mission Outdoors programming; including outings, youth outings, and military and veteran specific activities. This individual will primarily focus on two key groups: the military community which includes families, youth, veterans, and wounded warriors, as well as those communities who may not have access or regular opportunities for outdoor activities
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience coordinating volunteer activities and working in the field of outdoor recreation. A Bachelor's Degree in education, outdoor recreation, volunteer management, diversity and inclusion, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is also important. Familiarity with the military and veteran community is highly encouraged.
We strongly prefer to locate this person in San Francisco, CA or Washington, DC. That said, we will consider well qualified applicants from other regions of the country.
