About the Job:
MEDA is looking for an MSME Advisor (Non-Financial Services) - Yemen ADEN. Under the supervision of managing director, s/he will provide business development services to MSMEs in Yemen.
MEDA is looking for an MSME Advisor (Non-Financial Services) - Yemen ADEN. Under the supervision of managing director, s/he will provide business development services to MSMEs in Yemen.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Collaborating and build capacity of local business development service (BDS) organizations;
- Developing and improving frameworks for effectively reaching MSMEs and women and youth entrepreneurs;
- Providing expertise in business planning and management and delivery of BDS service.
Qualifications:
- University degree, ideally a Masters, and ideally combining the disciplines of Business Administration, Social Entrepreneurship, and Enterprise Development or other related discipline;
- Proven track record of at least 7 years experience in small business planning and management, business development service, and/or institutional capacity building;
- Experience with business associations and/or entrepreneurial experience highly preferred;
- Familiarity with bi- and multi-lateral government agencies, donors (particularly EC, DFID, USAID), non-governmental organizations and other development agencies working in Yemen's microfinance sector;
- Excellent skills in communication, relationship building, intercultural engagement, networking and interpersonal communication, negotiation and leadership;
- Self-starter and motivator without day-to-day supervision; Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing program;
- Fluency in Arabic and minimum 3 years work experience in Yemen is highly desirable.
