Responsibilities:
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for contracting goods and/or services for the Catalyst and Chemical portfolio in the Downstream Business at the most market competitive terms. This is done through the use of market analysis; stakeholder needs analysis, strategy development, strategy implementation, tendering, negotiation and contract management.
- In addition, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for:
- Creating value improvements via contract management/category management/supplier management.
- Work in teams with other Senior Buyers and Project Managers in order to ensure the right attention and focus is given to the total category work scope of the Contracting & Procurement team
- Interface with Refinery contract users at the site; CP Category Managers/Senior buyers; Inventory Management; vendors, Accounts Payable, IT and other related customers
- Coverage for routine Turn Arounds and Projects (contract portfolio can be changed or adjusted to meet business needs)
- Commercial lead in these contracts (includes contract mgmt and performance) for multi-site contracts including regional level
- Translate the Category to Manufacturing for alignment, implementation plans and value delivery
- Coach Senior Buyers on category skills, project management and stakeholder engagement
- Develop and own end to end contracting process, which includes negotiating and manage post award
- Develop regional implementation plans for new contracts
- Deliver value improvements by developing and implementing regional CP strategies and implementing the regional component of global strategies
- Support Global Category Manager in implementing the Global Category Strategy within the region and maintaining business stakeholder support
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the market for the category in various key markets
- Provide a strong commercial influence in the thinking and behavior of the users of materials and/or services in the region
- Business interface for the category on a day-to-day basis with regional business stakeholders and ensure local business needs are met
- Explore and exploit cross-business leverage opportunities for services with other
lines of business eg Retail, Lubricants, Supply & Distribution - Report Value Improvements for the Category within the region and to the Global Category Manager
- Conduct bids, on-line bids, negotiations and manage subsequent supplier performance
- Model options for award strategies to optimize value including quality, commerciality and timing/speed to market
- Manage supplier relationships including resolution of operational and supplier performance issues relating to the contracts
- Interact, align and maintain close productive relationships with business stakeholders
- Responsible for the delivery of Requisition to Pay( RtP) KPI and compliance delivery for the category
- Responsible for ensuring contracts can be operationalised effectively within the context of the standardized RtP process
- Responsible for ensuring that Category Strategies incorporate the requirements
Desired Skills & Experience
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any specialization
- A proven track record of commercial and negotiation experience
- At least 6 years of Procurement experience in Manufacturing (Oil and Gas or petrochemical) background, preferably in the catalyst and chemicals industry
- Proven track record of execution excellence and delivering results
- Strong procurement experience - strategy development and execution, negotiations, contract / supplier performance management
- Experiences with systems such as SAP and relevant standard MS-software
- Category Knowledge (materials, industry, market, competition, etc)
- Build shared vision and work in a collaborative manner with our full Contracting & Procurement Team and business stakeholders
