Analyst Programmer, Integration & Information Management at RMIT University


Multiple roles for talented problem solvers with technical skills

Within ITS Application Delivery is responsible for the design, development, configuration, maintenance and support of applications, including custom-built and third party software.
The Analyst Programmer provides a range of analytical and technical services supporting, maintaining and enhancing the applications assigned to their Solution Centre. The role is responsible for the efficient and effective provision of services to users and colleagues across the range of applications. You will have experience in multiple technologies such as web services, Google Apps, Java, .Net, PHP, as well as display an ability to run with new technologies. You will also have a sound understanding of relational database management systems. Specifically you will:
  • Receive, respond to and resolve incidents and service request according to agreed service levels, investigating, correcting or escalating problems and communicating with team members and key stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of problems through root cause analysis working collaboratively with team members.
  • Undertake technical and functional configuration of application software and software code development, applying agreed tools, techniques and processes for administering information and change.
  • Support system development and testing activities as required, applying software coding and configuration skills and documenting outcomes according to agreed standards.
  • Ensure application, technical and business process knowledge remains current with internal developments, market trends and standards.
To be suitable you will demonstrate an ability to work independently and collaboratively to manage the end-to-end resolution process for assigned tasks. This will include completing in-depth analysis, review and application of expert knowledge. With highly developed communication and customer service skills you will have an ability to understand issues, manage expectations, gain agreement, and resolve conflicts. Critical to this role is previous experience in enterprise application systems and development, thorough the Service Delivery Lifecycle.
