Finance and Grants Manager, Jordan Community Engagement Program

Position Description:
The anticipated USAID-funded Community Engagement Program in Jordan seeks to address immediate and medium term stressors in communities with the goal of strengthening Jordanian communities to mitigate and resolve tension and instability caused by both domestic volatility and the massive influx of refugees.
 
Grants
  • Design and disseminate grants announcements and manage proposal review process;
  • Monitor implementation and compliance of grant activities and grant results, in partnership with other staff and ensure consistent, coherent, clear support to grantees;
  • Prepare monthly reports to the COP/Program Director, for use in preparing project-wide reports, on all activities during the period, any challenges, and any notable successes/lessons learned.
Finance
  • Review annual budgets and track expenditures against budgetary line items;
  • Review project invoices for accuracy and allocate expenditures according to accounting systems;
  • Prepare and update Imprest reports on a daily basis and submit month-end reports to HQ according to financial procedures;
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports;
  • Liaise with Finance/Business Managers in HQ regarding budget realignments, specific budget issues, and status of wire transfers;
  • Review and endorse for signature financial transactions as needed.
Minimal Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience years providing financial oversight and grants management (including cash and in-kind grants) on large donor-funded projects; 
  • Previous experience working with INGO, preferably in Jordan;
  • Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations; 
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team approach;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software strongly preferred;
  • High integrity and strong attention to detail and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Jordanian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
