ANZSOG Institute for Governance

The ANZSOG Institute for Governance (ANZSIG) is seeking to appoint a Professor in Regional Policy and Governance to lead its work on understanding communities under stress. Applications will be welcomed from high quality researchers who possess a Ph.D, have an outstanding research record, (including managing research projects) and are committed to enhancing theory and practice. An expertise in regional policy is crucial preferably with a strong understanding of both social and economic development.
The successful applicant will mainly contribute to the research and publication activity of the Institute. The Institute engages in research, evaluation and service design relating to governance practice, policy and interventions. Research undertaken is strongly connected to applied work in Australian or international governance for a broad range of stakeholders including policy-makers, politicians, service managers and front-line staff. The context for the Institute’s research agenda is greatly influenced by the need for evidence-based policy and management and by practical, outcome-focused considerations.
The successful applicant will play a lead role in delivering on the Institute’s ambitious ERA objectives. The successful candidate will also contribute to research training activities for our growing cohort of research students and, on occasion to professional development opportunities in their field of expertise.
